Final Thoughts

I love visiting Orlando. There is so much to do and so much to see. You are whisked out of your everyday world into a world of fantasy and friendliness. While I don't want to live there, I will visit every 5 years or so.

A few thoughts -

Staying on Disney property is very nice and worth it. Not having to fight traffic and being immersed in thne Disney friendly environment is a great way to take a trip. While you don't need to rent a car, it can make it faster to get to the different parks and allows you to leave more easily.

Universal has 2 fantastic parks if you like thrill rides.. their attractions are much more "edgy" than the Disney equivalents.

Use FastPass. With a little pre-planning, you can avoid many long lines.

Plan on spending quite a bit on food. Most of our meals for 2 people were $50 or more.

To avoid lines, go to the parks early, leave when the park gets crowded for an afternoon nap, and come back in the evening. Go off-season if possible. We went in February, and even then, the parks got crowded at times. It can be nightmarish in summer.

The best book on Disney is the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. This has iteneraries that will help you beat the crowds.

Splitting up for a day worked quite well for us, as we each got to do something we wanted to do that the other wasn't too excited about.

Whew! I hope you enjoyed this tour. If you made it this far, please send a quick note to scott@scottnicholson.com and give me your thoughts!
